Fitness Assesment

At Army Fit, we are driven by improving our members’ fitness. In order to help us achieve this, we carry out Fitness Assessments (optional). These tests help members to see their progress along with determining the group they will join for the sessions so the level of activity matches their fitness levels.
  We have three groups
  • Alpha Group - for highly active and fit recruits who want to push themselves hard
  • Bravo Group - for recruits who currently exercise with an average level of fitness
  • Delta Group – for recruits who are starting out on their fitness journey of returning to exercise
Army Fit will improve your all round fitness. Some of our testing is shown below – you can perform these at home ready to improve your scores.
  Speed
  • Time your 1 and a half mile run and see how much faster you get the more Army Fit you do.
  • This tests your aerobic ability and endurance.
  Strength
  • See how many repetitions of sit-ups, press-up and burpees (each is tested separately) you can do in two minutes and see how much stronger you get the more sessions you attend.
  • This tests your muscular strength and endurance.
  • Participants should aim to complete the maximum number of repetitions (with good form) in two minutes.
  Fitness
  • Perform the fitness circuit for your group and see how much fitter you are getting each month.
  • This is a circuit test to be completed in 15 minutes or less and has three versions. No-one should be able to complete their group level test in less than 10 minutes.
  • Each groups test includes burpees, sits ups, press up and shuttle runs.
  • This tests your strength, endurance (both aerobic and anaerobic), flexibility and coordination.
